A growing library working with a wide range of composers, Muzikotek is the only Turkish Music Library in the world bringing you modern, rich, exotic East-meets-West melodies and moods ideal for all forms of media usage.
In the early 1980s, production music and publishing first came to life in Turkey with Muzikotek. However, the Muzikotek library was founded in 1997 with the first album, Muz.5 "Percussion 1." Since then, Muzikotek has made it its mission to create music that carries the essence of traditional Turkish tunes, often integrated with modern melodies.
Two of the albums in the Muzikotek catalogue feature traditional western songs that have been reworked with a Turkish style. On Muz.18 Alaturca Santa you will find songs like "Jingle Bells" revved up by kanun, darbuka and a very flirty clarinet, then on Muz.26 Well Known Tunes 1, get ready to witness musical transformations such as “Drunken Sailor” into “Drunken Sailors of the Aegean Sea” and “Oh Susanna” into “Suzanna the Bellydancer”.
