Music Discovery

Upon listening to Dinah Thorpe’s 2019 album The Body Wants (from Hard Music’s artist label Graffiti Alley), one is immediately struck by a sonic palette that is both warmly familiar yet totally new.  

Within the vast and diverse music landscape, the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community has made significant contributions, enriching the global music scene with their unique perspectives, rich cultural heritage, and unparalleled talent.

A Jazz Fusion group out of Paris called The Harlem Pop Trotters came together for a late-night recording session at La Comédie des Champs-Elysées in 1975. The resulting album of twelve tracks is a masterpiece and a great representation of the genre and era. 

The APM search engine is a great place for music discovery. Music can take you places, and sometimes you need to follow where it is taking you. One of those times is the first time I heard Sunshine Memory.
