KPM Composers Triumph at Ivor Novello Awards & BAFTAS!
Spirits are high at APM Music & KPM Music, following the success of our amazing composers and songwriters at the Ivor Novello Awards and the BAFTAS. Roll out the red carpet for Michael Price, Ian Livingstone and Marc Williams...
Michael Price was nominated for the "Original Music" award at the BAFTAs having co-written the score with David Arnold for the popular BBC One series Sherlock. We caught up with Michael whilst he was recording the score at the prestigious Air Lyndhurst Studios – check out the video here! Michael is currently working on KPM 784 Dramatic Cinema, a breathtakingly immense and powerful collection of epic cinematic scores, traversing multiple dramatic and emotional peaks: taking you on a dark, dramatic, epic, unrelenting, beautiful cinematic journey, recorded with a 65-piece symphony orchestra. Watch for it this summer!
At this year's Ivors, Marc Williams scooped an award for the "Best Contemporary Song," having co-written Tinie Tempah’s number one smash hit "Pass Out." Marc is a regular KPM Music writer with tracks on the newly released KPM 771 Urban Beatscapes, a hauntingly beautiful collection of edgy, alternative electronica, mixing breakbeat turntablism with electro-noir grooves and sultry, blissed-out trip hop. His next project is KPM 773 Hip Hop Cuts, jam-packed with ghetto-blasting urban anthems, from down and dirty hip hop to dubstep-laced grime and explosively powerful rap, due to arrive in the U.S. later this summer.
And, another Ivor Novello went to renowned composer, Ian Livingstone, for "Best Original Video Game Score." Ian recently completed JM 59 Wildlife which combines lush orchestral soundscapes, authentic tribal beats and eerie atmospherics to represent the animal kingdom in all its glory.
