LOS ANGELES, California, April 23, 2020 — In the interest of protecting its members, partners, and contributors, the Production Music Association announced today that in lieu of holding its annual Production Music Conference in the fall of 2020, the PMA will be moving the Mark Awards to online only and launching the new PMA Academy, a new webinar series focusing on topics of interest to the production music community.

“This probably can’t be overstated, it’s the most important catalog in all of sports,” said Tom Hedden, the former Music Director at NFL Films and NFL Director of Music Administration when asked about the NFL Films Music library. “Everything else will always be measured against NFL Films Music.”

The NFL Films catalog is one of the most important in all of sports. We talked with Tom Hedden, the former Music Director at NFL Films and NFL Director of Music Administration, about the early influences of the music, the growth of the library, and how it has been transformative across the sports and media landscapes.

The MLB: The Show video game series from Sony Interactive Entertainment has been going strong for more than two decades and APM Music has been a proud partner through each season. APM's music has been included in nearly each video game going back to the year 2000.

The movement toward equality has become an important hot topic lately and, with songs like Taylor Swift's "The Man" and Hildur Guðnadóttir winning the first Oscar for Best Original Score in 20 years, the long-due visibility and recognition continues to increase both in music and the mainstream.
