2023 Guild of Music Supervisors Awards Highlights and Full List of Winners

The 2023 Guild of Music Supervisors concluded their awards ceremonies last night at The Wiltern in Los Angeles, California, and awarded the top prize to the song "This is a Life" from the film Everything Everywhere at Once and written by Mitski Miyawaki, David Byrne, and Ryan Lott.
The hit multiverse film's music supervisors won a second award for best music supervision for a film budgeted $25 million and under. The award was presented to Lauren Marie Mikus and Bruce Gilbert.
Anton Monsted won best music supervision for a film budgeted over $25 million for the movie Elvis, and Rob Lowry took home two awards for his work on Cha Cha Real Smooth and Do Revenge.
For Television, Kier Lehman won in the comedy/musical category for Insecure season five, and Nora Felder won best music supervision for a television drama for Stranger Things season four.
Legendary composer Paul Williams received the GMS Icon Award for his contributions to the industry.
Other highlights include:
- Ruth B's opening performance of Paper Airplanes from A Jazzman's Blues
- Macy Gray's performance of her hit song I Try as a tribute to the late Pilar McCurry
- Gaby Moreno's performance of A Song in My Heart from The Valet
- Joy Oladokun's performance of the song Pride
The event, which recognizes outstanding music supervision in film, television, advertising, trailers, and video games, is one of the most anticipated events in the entertainment industry. The GMS Awards also serve as a platform for emerging talent in the music industry. The awards are an excellent opportunity for new and upcoming music supervisors to showcase their work to industry professionals and audiences worldwide.
